- What is more authentic - according to Ustādh, Allāhu ʿAlam - is that one should recite this duʿāʾ once.

The more correct opinion is that one should recite this specific duʿāʾ in this manner ( instead of bismikAllahumma aḥyā wa amūt ) as:

- the person is reciting before going to sleep, which a form of (temporary) “death”.

- it is then followed by the phrase “I live”, representing the person waking up (resurrecting) after he has slept.

Amongst the benefits derived from the ḥadīth of this dhikr:

- one should offer help even before he is asked; just as how the Prophet ‎ ‎ﷺ offered help by offering Fātimah رضي الله عنها this dhikr to with her situation

- When ʿAlī رضي الله عنه was informed of this dhikr, he strived to practice it, even during the days of battle (of Siffin)! This implies the high aspirations of the Sahabah to act upon the Sunnah once they were aware of it.

- The one offering advice / help should be aware of the manner of he is conveying the advice so that it will more likely be accepted and acted upon, In shāʾ Allāh.

- It is important for the one making duʿāʾ to use the various means of getting his duʿāʾ accepted such as:

1) Permitted Tawassul (Intermediary) such as Supplicating with His Names & Attributes.

2) Praising Allāh.

- Striving the balance between being sufficed with what we have after working hard for it (Qanāʿah) and not to be deceived by the tremendous results of our hardwork.

📌 The goal is that all of our efforts in this dunyā should bring ourselves closer to Him.

💫 Amongst The Virtues of The First 10 Days of Dhul Ḥijjah

Shaykh-ul Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

“The (First) Ten Days of Dhul Ḥijjah are more virtuous than the (First) Ten days of Ramaḍān.

And the Last Ten Nights of Ramaḍān are more virtuous than the (Last) Ten Nights of Dhul Ḥijjah.”
